PARASOMNIA
a disquieting dance nightmare
ON FILM
Original Live Production:
MAY 20 & 23
AT THE SCOTIABANK DANCE CENTRE
Film Runtime: 51:32
SUGGESTED DONATION: $10
The night has come. The day is done. It’s time to sleep.
Sleep is the most mysterious part of the human experience. Science has linked sleep to memory processing and emotional stabilizing. Sleep is essential. And although we need it, sometimes sleep is not so restful. For some of us, sleep invites more than just sweet dreams. When others are resting peacefully, we experience PARASOMNIA.
In the dark of your room. In the quiet of the witching hour. There is something standing in the corner. You can just barely see it, but you are certain it is there. And it’s inching its way closer to you…
Join our sweet little Lamb as she weaves and wanders her way through her worst nightmares. But is it all a dream? Can anyone tell the difference between the waking world and reality? This is all in her head… right?
Enjoy the on-screen version of our first ever stage show, PARASOMNIA.
Trigger Warning: This is a horror-based dance show which includes themes and scenarios that may be uncomfortable or triggering for certain individuals. Including: nightmares, sleep paralysis, demons, sexual themes, physical abuse, and psychosis. Due to the abstract nature of the show and adjacent visuals and themes, we also provide a trigger warning for sexual assault.
